We have had a great start to this new term here at The Howard. As the Autumn leaves begin to show it seems a good time to reflect on what we have already achieved this year.
PTA held a lovely open morning last weekend which allowed our local community chance to see where all of their fundraising over recent years has gone. They were very impressed with our new trim trail and basketball posts as well as our amazing Forest school. It has been great to see all classes in Forest School lessons this term enjoying and utilising the environment for Science. The fresh air, building relationships and being at one with nature are all so important to their wider education.
PTA were also hard at work again with our hugely succesful Silent Disco which proved a real hit with the children. The children had so much fun in their neon t-shirts and head sets. A great idea for a fundraiser....
MacMillan coffee morning was also a huge success where we raised over £150 for this amazing charity. Well done to the children who helped run this and put on a relaxed event for our parents and guests.
School has been such an amazing place to be this term. The children have worked so hard and our new Reception have settled in brilliantly. Our value of Responsibiltiy has been grasped by all of our children with Class 3 being notably brilliant at looking after our younger children. I'm sure you will agree that the children have all looked so smart in their uniforms and PE days have been just as smart - thank you.
We recently enjoyed a morning with one of our Directors and Governors where we looked at some of the lessons going on across the school. They both left very happy and proud of what they had seen - indeed the mature and deep conversations the children were having blew them away! Well done children.
I hope you are all accessing the weekly blogs to get a flavour of what the children are up to in their classes. They are just a snapshot of all the lovely things they do and achieve each day. Thanks again to the staff for their efforts to make learning as enjoyable as possible and to the children for making our school such a wonderful place to be.
