Exploring the natural world

Delving further into this term’s value of respect
This week the assembly team performed their drama based around the story of Moses and the Burning Bush. They worked so hard on their performance which helped further enhance our understanding of what respect is and can mean to others.
Evaluating Investigations in Science
In Science this week our investigation centred around identifying the best material to make curtains. We used our lux metres to measure how much light each material allowed through and then used the results to inform our decisions. We then evaluated how we would tweak our investigation next time.
PTA AGM
On the 3rd October the PTFA had their AGM at school. It was really well attended by current members, new parents, Mr Wynn and Chair of Governors Helen Robertson.

A work in progress
Class 2 are busy starting their final projects in DT. Today they drew their design onto their canvas and started to paint. We can’t wait to see their designs come to life!
Investigating Shadows
We have worked hard on our scientific enquiry skills this afternoon investigating factors that affect our shadows. We created our own results table, recorded results and formed conclusions from these.
Editing our work in style
Years 3 and 4 have been busy editing their independent writing today. We used our purple pens to correct errors in our work after spotting our errors using our funky glasses.
Boscobel House
Class 3 travelled to Shropshire this week to visit Boscobel House and The Royal Oak. Having been defeated by Oliver Cromwell at the Battle of Worcester, Charles II escaped to Boscobel in fear of his life. He hid in The Royal Oak tree for 14 hours in the pouring rain!
