What effects does gravity have on objects?
Key stage 1 had lots of fun completing an investigation all about gravity. They learnt what gravity was, who discovered it and then conducted investigations testing the effects of gravity on objects. So much fun and lots of learning!
Budding architects
Class 2 have started their final art topic of the year - architecture. They have made mood boards combining their go rowing computing skills with their art skills and today they have used their mathematical knowledge of 3D shapes to help them draw 3D building outlines.

Recycling seaside sculptures
Class 2 have had great fun creating sea creatures from recycled materials. They applied their learning to create their final sculptures after planning them very carefully. Well done class 2!
Classifying rocks in science
Today we developed our classifying skills to sort rocks into venn diagrams based on our chosen rock properties. We used fantastic scientific language and great roach skills to share our thoughts.

Chocolate Dissection
We had lots of fun in science this afternoon. To kick off our rocks topic we began looking at properties of rocks. We then compared their properties to the characteristics of the chocolates we dissected using some fantastic scientific language.

Dissecting poo in science
This afternoon we dissected a range of animal poos ( handmade with oats and cocoa powder so not at all smelly like their real counterparts). We found evidence of their diet and used this to determine whether the animal was a herbivore, carnivore or omnivore. We then used this knowledge to predict…
Making Roman Spelt Bread
Class 2 finished off their Romans topic by creating a staple Roman food - Spelt bread. They followed a traditional recipe making loaves in teams. We then finished the afternoon by exploring Roman diet and creating Roman menus.
Sustainable fishing
Class 2 have learnt about the importance of fishing sustainably. They have looked at the harm overfishing can do to the environment and created posters to promote fish free Fridays.
They have also made sandwiches using fish products that were sustainable sourced.
