Learning to play E and D

Sketching masterpieces

Phonics in the dark!
Class 2 had a great time exploring black cat’s midnight story about the ‘or’ grapheme. They enjoyed using chalk, torches and their wonderful phonics skills to explore the ‘or’ sound. Great work children!
What are the parts of the plant called and what are their functions?
The children in class two have proved what wonderful scientists they are. They demonstrated their learning about the parts of the plants and their functions by designing and making a flower, then labelling the parts and their functions. Another practical and fun science lesson!
Acting out Katie in London
Class know the story Katie in London really well now. Before they start writing a retelling of the story next week, they acted out key parts of the story, retelling key phrases. Great work everyone!
Can you give clear instructions?
During computing lessons, Class 2 practised giving each other clear instructions. Once they mastered doing this, they used this skill to program the bee bots clear instructions to move around a map. Great work children!
Inspiring the next generation of gladiators?
The children had wonderful time meeting Zack George, best known as Steel! He talked to the children about the importance of being healthy and following your dreams. We might have future gladiators amongst us here at The Howard!

What is mark making?
Class 2 have started their next art unit studying sketching. They began by trying to make marks with using their pencils and feet! Then they explored different marks using their hands.
