Class 1 and 2 have had the best day celebrating World Book Day.
We started the day sharing our favourite stories, the children talked about why they had chosen them and who they would recommend the book to.
After that it was time for some baking. The children worked in mixed teams to follow a recipe and make some Gruffalo cookies - yum, yum.
The children then used a range of craft materials to create paper plate characters, can you guess who they made from the pictures?
We then enjoyed a book scavenger hunt in the playground with the children searching for clues to unravel the name of a famous book character.
In the afternoon, the children enjoyed a range of world book day activities in Forest School. We made Goldilock’s porridge, gingerbread, grandma’s salt doh cookies, stick man, funny bones, hungry caterpillars from leaves and dens for the three little pigs.
What a great way to celebrate our love of reading.
